The rest area and scenic outlookThe rest area looks out over the village. Let yourself be overcome by the captivating view before you. You will be energized by the magnificent vantage point overlooking the village. There are onsite services for the public such as: Tourist information office, bathrooms, picnic tables, bulletin board and binoculars available for your use.

Hear the call of the enigmatic « Gisant », strange sculpture of a human profile unveiled by the tides. Offer yourself the pleasure of a fifteen minute walk, either by the path near the rest area or by following the cliff side and the ocean shore at low tide.
A perfect place for family activities. You can go swimming, fishing, picnicking and enjoy a variety of activities at the Farm lake site, situated 14 km from the village, in a pastoral setting.
Paths and trailsNear Farm lake, you can take the foot path or the bike path to discover the beauty of the surrounding countryside. You can also follow the « maritime trail » to Petite-Vallée, by following the shoreline at low tide.
Commercial activity is humming on Saint-François-Xavier road (route 132). You will find what's necessary to fulfill all your needs. In the center of town, use the parking and rest area which gives direct access to the beach.

Relax on the fine sand beach! Among its particularities are the shallow water and the sandy bottom. Use onsite resources: picnic area, beach chairs, playground for children, volleyball court and public bathrooms. While looking out over the ocean perhaps you'll be fortunate enough to see whales feeding and playing.
arkIn the heart of the village is Alexis-Caron Park, landscaped on the shores of the Grande-Vallée River. There is a play area for children, a pétanque court, tennis court and a mini flea market. « Alexis Caron » park offers a lighted promenade which follows the river's edge to the Galipeault Bridge.
BridgeGalipeault Bridge is a wooden covered bridge which crosses the Grande-Vallée River. It is an inheritance from the 1920s and has been declared a historical monument. It is named for the minister of the epoch who authorized its construction.
On River Road (rue de la Rivière), you will pass through this part of the village, called « the colony » which spreads out over fifteen kilometres. Further on, in the bottom of the valley, you will discover a high quality of village life, favoured with a micro climate propitious to agriculture and maple sugar groves, as well as mountains which will take your breath away.

Sitting on the point, made of wood, is Saint François-Xavier church, pride of our religious patrimony. Rich with a hundred year's existence, it dominates the village and serves as figure head with its lighted bell tower. Inside, a veritable local museum: you can appreciate the beauty of its gothic inspired architecture, its path of the cross, its sculptures and many religious artefacts. The painted frescos on the ceiling were realized by a local artisan and are unique.

It was once a refrigerated warehouse, today converted into an art center. Works by artists are presented.
